On top of having a really cool name, this great little grinder packs a punch. It has a great aesthetic that takes advantage of a jet black plastic frame sandwiched by a sleek stainless steel top and bottom.

It is worth more than you might have ever expected to spend on something whose job is just to turn something into powder but you’ll quickly find out that this makes a world of a difference!

Title Baratza Virtuoso – Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

Usually, a grinder will end up favoring a certain side of the degree of fineness spectrum. With the popularity of espresso in the US, it is no surprise that most tend to be particularly adept at finer brews and ultimately neglect other coarser styles like the French press.

One of the biggest strengths of the Baratza Virtuoso is that it is pretty egalitarian in its grinding range. You can have an invigorating espresso one day and partake in drinking a rich French press the next.

The Baratza Virtuoso is also engineered to completely minimize static and give you consistent grinds each time. The gears run at an incredible 450 RPM which makes it extremely quiet and the DC motor keeps the torque stable despite the low RPM so that you don’t have to worry about the quality of your grinds deteriorating with time.

There is also a switch that cuts power to the grinder when temperatures cross a certain threshold so that your beans are kept fresh. Nothing is worse than having the quality of your favorite coffee beans ruined by excessive heat. This machine features the new Gearbox 2.0 that reduces static and keeps any noise to a minimum.

Baratza Virtuoso - Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

This iteration of the Virtuoso comes with a button that lets you actively control your machine’s grinding so that you can touch-up your batches of coffee.  It also comes with an expertly calibrated system that can be user personalized to better fit your preferences.

Other than that, you get a body that can be easily disassembled. This allows you to get to all the hard to reach parts and makes cleaning your grinder simple, quick and efficient. A clean conical burr is necessary to the creation of the purest, most flavorful coffee so you don’t have to worry about chunks or staleness with the Virtuoso.

Nevertheless, the plastic design and internal hardware is not the best for endurance. It is questionable that Baratza built these to stand the test of time and you should be aware of that when purchasing this relatively expensive product.

Baratza Virtuoso 2 picBaratza Virtuoso – Conical Burr Coffee Grinder is definitely recommended regardless of the build quality. You get a professional grade grinder that will give you very consistent ground beans according to your specifications without any major problems.

If you take exceptionally good care of your Virtuoso, it is entirely possible to extend the life of this nifty device. Range and quality are extremely important traits for any grinder to have and this product delivers. If you’re on the market, you won’t regret getting this grinder.
